Well don't just stand there.. do something!

Sometimes having certain benefits given to us,
may not be useful at all,
even if the offer sounds really great at first.
NOTHING AGAINST GYMS!
Just some example I can think of now.

For instance, getting a free trial gym membership won't do anyone any good
if they've got no idea how to use gym facilities,
or when they're giving excuses like not having the time,
or maybe its not useful to them or something.
So try not to be blinded by these hard to pass offers.
Most of the time, its too good to be true and when its all said and done,
you'll be at the losing end.

They'll probably convince you to come with the constant promises
of FREE or INSTANT or SPECIAL or whatnot,
taking your sensibility off the fact that you would've already invested
in some bus or train ticket to go to that gym, or paid for petrol for your vehicle.
Heck, you probably don't even realize you've just spent off some energy,
which you got for paying for your breakfast earlier in the morning.
That's just for starters.

When you're there, all the sales talk begins.
Try this or that, its really fun and you'll love it!
We've got the best gym equipment and trainers in the world!
You'll see instant results, maybe in a few days or at least a week!
(trying to be a little more realistic)
We'll make you the champion of the world! The number one!
(If they dare say so)
You readers can fill in all the FREE or INSTANT you want.
That, I can promise you will be included the whole time.

Such sly and cunning promises to only keep you coming.
Later on they'll start promoting protein shakes,
SPECIAL gym offers, SPECIAL edition t-shirts,
SPECIAList trainers that can train you up, apparently,
even better that the 'best' ones in the world,
SPECIAL work-out music albums to keep you motivated?

Some people really need to learn how to sell their ideas
more effectively and honestly.
Figure out what really motivates someone to do,
what you want them to do,
and that they'll stick to it for the rest of their lives,
not just blindly offer them instant,
temporary comfort or assurance..
candy, cash and promises that will not help them in the long run.

Give a man a fish, feed him for a day.
Teach a man how to fish, feed him for life.

Well hey, if someone doesn't know how to fish with a rod,
at least don't catch that fish for them just yet.
Forcing them to catch with that rod until they get something,
just demotivates them.
What about try handing them a fishing net instead.

Fine, it probably teaches someone to have a sense of perseverance,
and to work hard, never give up and all that.
Take a step back for a moment and think,
what lesson are you actually try to focus on here?

Kill to birds with one stone, you say?
What ever for, if you can't even hit one bird,
or maybe worse.. you don't even know how to throw a stone?
lets go back one step.. don't know what a stone is?
don't know what the act of throwing an object is?
don't know how to spell THROW or ROCK?

There's always a simpler or alternative way to do things.
Always go back to basics.
Don't just give up on the person you're trying to educate,
partially or fully, when in the first place,
you've already set your mind that you want to TRY and help them.
Even more so if its your job, career, lifetime mission to educate!

Some people might say, it is a waste of time to teach everyone
starting from the simplest basics,
when we are already somewhat more intelligent,
some people are smart enough to skip all the basics,
and go to more advanced stuff.
How unfortunate is it, that this is more of what most people are doing today.
The ones who can't catch up with the majority will have to lose out,
always be second best, always end up being the sidekick,
the assistant, never the leader, and that's how life is these days.
Survival of the fittest? NONSENSE!

Everyone sure can talk the talk,
what about make a more eager attempt to walk the walk?

Talk about equality, talk about fairness in this world we live in these day,
Yep, just all empty talk and not even the slightest bit of 'walking',
living up to promises for the fight for all that is fair and equal.
More like everyone's fighting each other to gain power and advantage over the weak.
Well, that is what I see around me these days.

If all of this ever made sense to anyone reading, no matter how randomly rant-like this is,
Please do thank that one person who probably taught you from the very basics of life,
that one person who never gave up on you while you made your mistakes,
who never forced you to be what they want you to be, and instead,
allowed you your own right and freedom to grow and be someone you want to be.
